Directed by  Steven Spielberg
Written by  Michael Crichton, David Koepp
Starring:  Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm)
Julianne Moore (Dr. Sarah Harding)
Pete Postlethwaite (Roland Tembo)
Richard Attenborough (John Hammond)
Runtime: 134 minutes
Plot:
Ian Malcolm is recruited by John Hammond to lead a research team to Isla Sorna, an island 87 miles to the south of Isla Nublar (the site of the original Jurassic Park). Here, InGen Bioengineering had constructed the secret "Site B", where the dinosaurs were actually bred and then transported to the park. Hammond's nephew, who has taken control of InGen, leads his own team to the island to capture the dinos and bring them back to the U.S. to become attractions at a "dino park" in San Diego. The dinos cause havoc and have a field day with the movable "feast". - John Deming

Comment:
Sequels are rarely better than the original movie and Jurassic Park is not an exception. In this movie there are more special effects, more dinosaurs, more action, more screams, more loud sounds, more stupidity, more non-sense scenes but it misses the only thing that made the first one an 'acceptable' movie, the novelty.

Although the thrilling scenes and the plot in general seems to be aimed to an adult audience, I think that the plot can only be appreciated by a 10 years old child. It was obvious that the movie was going to show a lot of unlikely situations but there is always a limit after which I start feeling offended!

I can pass over the stupidity of trying to cure an injured T-Rex, I can understand that there may be many idiot people in an accurately organised crew, I can even buy that a car may be able to drag a heavy truck that was already half-fallen into a gorge and that the truck may fall perfectly perpendicular to the ground so that people attached to a rope can pass through it; what I can't really accept is the super-girl that manages to save the situation doing some sort of gymnastics and kicking a dinosaur out of the window! I'm also a bit puzzled by the T-Rex that managed to eat all the crew of the ship and then locked himself inside, but I am sure there is an explanation!

The only interesting and (sort of) 'intelligent' character was the hunter Roland Tembo (Pete Postlethwaite), the scenes where he is present are the only ones that can be taken seriously. Probably this is why he disappears before the last half-hour of "A dinosaur in Beverly-Hills"!
